Students with IEP Needs
In recent years, educators have begun to see an influx of students with IEP needs in both the public and private sphere. Like many of my colleagues, I am not specialized in a field that diagnoses or treats students who fall under the umbrella of IEP needs.
I do have the training and experience to meet the needs of neurotypical students, and take professional development courses to learn and understand how to differentiate the learning environment to meet IEP student needs.
Throughout my eleven years teaching, I have observed a correlation between the influx of technology and the influx of students coming in with IEP needs. This is a long-term change that will continue to unfold as we move into the future and observe student life and it requires strategic planning from all partners surrounding the child.
